If anyone is wondering what is happening with coaching flag football this fall, I apologize for not keeping you up to date until now. I'm not coaching this season, mainly for personal reasons.
Unfortunately I have to move to a different league because I have outside obligations that makes it hard for me to continue coaching on Saturday mornings. It was a very tough choice to make but we decided to move on so that my son can continue to improve on his skills so we found another league that fits my schedule much better and my son is playing in that league, but this has been a rough season to just sit down and watch. After all that time of coaching, watching is no longer an option.
This league is truly a different league that Dem NFL Flag, it's the J. Blanchard Park league. This league is an Orange County league and the price is way Cheaper ($30.00 for a 10 week season). The first difference I saw in this league is that it's 6 on 6 instead of 5 on 5 which I think is way cool, but the intensity level cannot be compared. It seems that the 7-8 year old division is all about letting the kids have fun, my son's coach tried very hard to let the all 12 of the kids play every position. It drives me crazy! Fortunately he changed it a bit after I couldn't hold it in any more and spoke to him about consistency at least with the QB and Center, so things are looking much better.
I will be coaching in this new league from now on and I've already registered to coach next season. My son will be in the 9-10 year old division by than and they look like they have the intensity I'm use to. Depending on weather or not the county will give them permission to hold season in the spring time will depend on when I coach again.
When I start coaching again I will give you all more info on this league and rest assured when I say that the coaching flag football series will be bank. Until then see ya!
I wonder if you've ever considered coaching as a profession Rockness. You seem to enjoy it a whole lot.
