Ain’t that some Bulls!?!?

I apologize for not writing sooner, after flag football season ended I was slowly getting re-assimilated into the world of the real and had a lot on my plate.
Ever since the Magic fumbled the player know as the "Big Aristotle" into the hands of the Lakers, the Magic have been marked as a team that makes bad NBA choices. Now I believe that the Magic have passed that torch to the Bulls who decided to fire the best thing that ever happened to them since MJ.
Scott Skiles has earned my fanship as a coach because there is no doubt that he is a great coach. Simply look at the record man.
His 1st head-coaching season with the Suns was great. 62 games, 40 wins, 22 loses
2nd season, same team 82 games, 51 wins, 31 loses
3rd season, same team 51 games, 25 wins, 26 loses
Then they fired him.
4th season with new team the Bulls 66 games, 19 wins, 47 loses
5th season, same team 82 games 47 wins, 35 loses
6th season, same team 82 games, 41 wins, 41 loses
7th season, same team 25 games, 9 wins, 16 loses
He has a head coaching career record of 281 wins, 251 lose and he has done this with non-championship caliber teams. Plus the fact that he has only missed the playoffs 3 times; the 2 seasons he got fired and his first season with the Bulls and that wasn’t a full season either. The second firing is still up in the air because the way things are looking around the league, he might be working next week!
What happened to Skiles is the biggest problem within the NBA today. Too many prima donnas not enough real ball players. According to the news, the players were not playing well because they believed that he was too hard on them. First off what has this group done to think that they can have special treatment? Absolutely nothing! They haven’t won a ring so why should they not be pushed hard? Is it Skiles’ fault that they are not a championship caliber team? As a matter of fact, under Skiles they overachieved.
Instead of firing Skiles, what the Bulls should have done is learn from the Jazz and stick by their coach. Everyone knows that it wasn’t Skiles’ fault for the slow start of the season; the players simply were not playing.
I simply cannot understand how grown up millionaires who get paid big money to play a child’s game for a living can feel like they are entitled to anything? Maybe if they where all forced to live in the real world just for 1 year, I bet that they would see things a whole lot differently.
Up until Skiles appeared, the only glory that the Bulls were holding onto were the hey days of Jordan. And since firing Skiles, nothing has been proven.
Skiles will not be out of a job for long, and unlike Brian Hill; his next Job will be as head coach once again not an assistant coach. With his hard nose attitude and dedication to the fundamentals of the game I truly believe that he might be the only one who can shape up New York. What do you think? Until next time, see ya!

Welcome back rockness. I always check to see what new blogs you post. I think skiles would do better with the wizards or some other young team. clearly he has a gift for working with young players. I don't think anyone can help the knicks. real on 1/4/2008 11:06:10 PM
