Well I have good news and I have bad news. The good news is that I have finally broken past the 1st rounds of the playoffs by beating the Titans 20-12. It was a nail biter for sure as the Titans had no intentions of ending their season with us but in the end it was us who was hungrier for the win.
The Cowboys beat us 21-6 and there was nothing that we could do about it. Parker was able to spot our weakness early in the game and it was just that simple. My kids played the best game possible but we couldn't do anything about our weaknesses. Up until that point I don't think that anyone figured it out but Parker did. One day I will get that Parker and when I do, victory will be sweet indeed.
Another good thing about this season is that I have no regrets. Every season before this I always felt bad that we didn't win a championship and that was because I knew that I didn't have enough knowledge and blamed myself. This season I did all possible and had people with more experience running both offense and defense. Had I had my two assistant coaches with me before I have no doubt in my mind we would have won a championship.
I am truly excited about the spring season coming up. This season I have truly learned a great deal about coaching football properly and about defense and making offensive plays, I have also learned a lot about planning for games. My assistant coach that will be with me this spring has a lot of zeal for the sport and will bring more knowledge to the team.
I am also bringing back the old fun loving me back into the mix. During our last few games I realized that being too serious during game time causes the kids to make a lot of mistakes while playing the game. I will not be as loose as I was before but I will have a good balance of being serious and having fun.
The spring season will bring a new challenge this time, as I will be in a rebuilding phase. Only 2 of my kids will be returning that I know of, everyone else will be new.
Thank you all for keeping up with me this season and now I switch gears to what has been happening in the NBA. Until next season, see ya.
