From the beginning I mentioned that this season was going to be an emotional one for me, today that was very evident. I almost lost my voice form yelling so much scaring parents, players and refs alike. I blew up at one of the players and it was truly an ugly site to see.
To all who are a part of the 49ers, the Vikings, and the refs of the game; I apologize. I’m normally not like that and I will make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Although we won the game (14-6), I am not satisfied. We started this season 0-2 and didn’t score at all in both of those games. I fear that the kids are getting complacent with our recent wins, forgetting how we played those first two games and how bad we lost.
There is much room for improvements on this team and we must strive for perfection always. Even though we have the potential to be the best team in this league, currently we are far from that. The Steelers have yet to be scored upon, the Jets have not shown any signs of slowing down, and the Cowboys are improving with each passing week. There are some good teams in this league and if we are to get to the championship game we must improve.
I know that a win is a win but with us playing the way we did today and me losing my temper, it didn’t seem like a victory at all. It’s very hard not to get emotional when you know that your team is a much better team than the way they played.
On a positive note, the defense was much better this week and it was because of them that we won the game. We scored late in the first half and then we got a 2-point conversion that had us up 8-0 at the end of the first half. In the second half our defense grabbed an interception and ran it in for another touchdown, but this time we didn’t get the extra 2 points. This got us up 14-0 but then the Vikings scored but never scored again which made the final score 14-6. It was our defense that won this game.
I must admit though, the Vikings are a much better team then I thought they would be. I am surprised that they have not won a game at all. If we meet them in the playoffs I will not take them lightly at all.
Well folks, we are now 2-2 and I suspect that next week’s game against the Lions will be another battle. Our offense and defensive centers were truly missed this week. One of them is sick and the other is a new big brother. I’m thinking of making some changes to the line up but I will wait to see the results of this week. Until next week, see ya!

Hey coach I went to the nflflagfootball.net site and it says that we lost 0-6! Whats up with that? ProudDad on 10/29/2007 10:45:10 AM
I've already noticed this grave error and reported it to the league. Shane, If I get pictures where would I put them? Rockness on 10/29/2007 10:53:16 AM
Hey Mike you did a great job during that game. Don't beat yourself up for being human, it only showed that you have passion for the team. Great job. mikesfan on 10/29/2007 12:53:07 PM
The last two seasons, you have mentioned giving out presents to the kids each week. Do you still do that? question on 10/31/2007 5:44:09 AM
That's a good question, question. The simple answer to that is no. I had planned on it but my current financial situation will not allow it. What I'm planning on doing is just giving them all gifts after the season ends for us. Rockness on 10/31/2007 5:47:16 AM
Upload them to your Photo Gallery. shaneSDR on 11/1/2007 2:00:47 AM
