So Long Billy the Kid

I’m sick and tired of all griping and complaining over what Billy the Kid did. Now is not the time to panic, now is the time for the Magic to step up and for Otis Smith to become true to his words. After firing Brian Hill, Otis Smith’s words were “The goal is to bring an NBA championship to Orlando.” And he also said this about the future Magic coach “More then a marquee name he got to be a right fit.”
Billy Donovan was nothing more than a marquee name, a marquee name to bring hype to the city of Orlando, a marquee name to get the city to approve the new arena, a marquee name to get people to buy season tickets, and a big risk that the Magic truly didn’t need. Billy Donovan obviously was not that “right fit”.
All those pretty words that Otis smith used, word like Bringing a “championship to Orlando”, and “the right fit” was all thrown out the window for other goals and now that things have gone sour there is nothing but chaos in the air.
Hey! Orlando Magic! Here is an idea. Why not do what is needed to be done. Forget the big names, forget the arena, and simply do what is needed to win games. How do you do that you ask? Look at the track records!
Currently there are 2 coaches available that will definitely get the Magic to the playoffs next season and more then likely lead the Magic to their first winning season since the 2002-03 season. These two coaches are Stan Van Gundy and Rick Carlisle. Now I can tell you the reason why, but I’d rather encourage you to go to www.nba.com and search them out yourself; you’ll be impressed and you’ll see that they are the perfect fit for the Magic right now.
